Owner
Sosuke
I am the co-founder and co-owner of The New End, a name that reflect the fresh, beautiful “new ends” created with every trim. I began my career in Tokyo and have spent over 15 years crafting personalized looks that celebrate each client’s unique features, hair type, and cultural identity.
I enjoy working with all types of hairstyles, but my specialty is short haircuts. Whether for men or women, I focus on tailoring each cut to enhance the client’s natural features, ensuring a result that is balanced, flattering, and uniquely suited to them. There is no one-size-fits-all haircut. Each person deserves a style that reflects their own essence.

Owner
Nachi
I am the co-founder and co-owner of The New End, a salon inspired by my vision of creating a welcoming space where both adults and children can relax and experience expert care. My journey as a hairstylist began over 18 years ago in Tokyo, where I gained a deep appreciation for client service and honed my craft through rigorous training.
My passion is helping clients discover the looks that suit them best while exploring new styles as their personality and preferences evolve. I value building meaningful, trust-based relationships with my clients, similar to the bond between a doctor and their patients. Caring for generations of families is one of my greatest joys, and I’m proud to offer a space where everyone feels at home.

Hair Stylist
Masae
I’m a stylist at The New End, as well as a certified kimono dresser, color life coach, global image consultant, hair and makeup artist, and color therapist. Additionally, I am a producer and performer with Hannari Entertainment. With over 20 years of experience, I blend traditional Japanese artistry with modern techniques to help clients discover their unique beauty and confidence. My journey began in Kyoto, where I trained in kimono dressing and, at just 23, became the Executive Director of a historic salon.
Now based in NYC, I serve as a Master Stylist at The New End and lead the New York Kimono Academy, sharing timeless Japanese traditions with a global audience. My mission is to empower individuals to shine authentically, both inside and out.

Hair Stylist
Barry
I’m a stylist at The New End with seven years of experience. My journey began with a chance vacation to Japan and fond memories of coloring my mom’s hair, which inspired me to pursue hairstyling. I started my career at a renowned Japanese salon in New York, where I embraced rigorous training.
This foundation shaped not only my technical skills but also my unique approach to hairstyling. At The New End, I thrive in the collaborative spirit, where everyone supports one another. During consultations, I take the time to understand a client’s vision while also encouraging them to explore new possibilities—whether it’s a fresh parting or subtle changes that reveal a new side of their style.

Hair Stylist
Mariko
I started my career at a salon in Tokyo's Omotesando, where I spent years learning and refining techniques in cutting, coloring, and styling. I also worked in London, gaining valuable international experience working with different hair types and styles.
When I found The New End, I immediately felt at home - not only because of the warm, welcoming atmosphere but because the team had the same attention to detail and care for clients I was used to in Japan. I enjoy building long-term relationships with clients and felt like I could truly do that here. Known for my calm, attentive approach, I try to create an experience where clients can feel relaxed and comfortable.
Outside of work, I enjoy yoga and traveling to small towns around the world!

Hair Stylist
Renata
I am a hairstylist with over 20 years of experience in cutting and color. Trained in Wella and Vidal Sassoon techniques, I focus on styles that enhance each client’s natural features. My specialties include highlights, balayage, bobs, and long layered styles. I joined The New End for its warm atmosphere and the professionalism of the team—it’s inspiring to work where creativity, technique, and collaboration are valued. I see hair color like makeup—because it frames the face, the right shade can elevate a client’s overall appearance. I love helping people find the look that brings out their character.
Outside the salon, I stay active with golf, weight training, and jogging. Exercise keeps my mind sharp, helping me stay creative, focused, and flexible when working with clients. It enhances both my mental clarity and my work as a stylist.

Assistant
Carlos
I’m originally from South Carolina, where my passion for hairstyling began in high school. I started by experimenting with my own naturally curly hair and cutting my friends’ hair, which inspired me to pursue cosmetology school to sharpen my skills. For the past two years, I’ve been at The New End, learning the art of Japanese hairstyling.
Here, every detail matters—especially their unique shampooing process. It’s not just about washing hair, it’s a thoughtful technique designed to improve blood flow, open cuticles, and ensure proper conditioning, because every great haircut starts with a great head spa. My favorite style to cut is curly hair, for adults and kids! I also love using bold colors to inspire self-expression.

Assistant
Kaille
My journey at The New End began while I was still in school, interning under Nachi’s guidance. During that time, I gained valuable experience and developed the ability to pay attention to every detail and process that define the salon’s operations.
Now, as a full-time assistant, I’m excited to be part of the team, bringing energy and dedication to each client’s experience. From a choreographed shampooing process to a relaxing massage, I strive to ensure every detail is handled with care and warmth.
